The Beginning

I blame it on my Dad. He put a camera loaded with film in the hands of my sister and I when we were teenagers and set us free. There are three things I remember:

  1. My twin sister taking a picture of our younger sister and Grandpa Jones walking down Edison Timmerman Road holding hands

  2. Processing that picture in our homemade dark room, our bathroom, in black and white

  3. Knowing that that image would be forever engraved in my memory

I also remember taking a photography class in high school put on by Mr. Goetz and thinking the exposure triangle was a ploy to torture us. But I have grown and spent many years away from the camera as I focused on my career in the corporate world just to find myself more in love with photography now than ever as I now have time to focus on my passion.

With every shot I take and every tutorial I watch I find myself growing into the photographer I want to be. I hope as my career in photography flourishes I can continue to write blog entries about certain photos that captured me and provide insight on the image, the camera settings and hopefully share some of my knowledge with those that love it as much as I do.
